Zeiss Planetarium Jena

Travel to distant galaxies, learn about far-off planets and explore the fantastic world of the the universe with all its breathtaking natural phenomena - all this is offered by one of the first large-size planetaria in the world. It opened as early as 1926 and today is one of the most modern world-wide.

Its dome is made of some 8,000 iron rods and has a diameter of 23 metres. In addition to educational and family programs, the planetarium also offers has music shows, concerts and live lectures. The Zeiss Planetarium Jena offers impressive shows, regardless of the weather and guarantees the most beautiful skies. Here you can experience astronomy.

Opening hours

Mon - Fr: 9 a.m- 12:30 a.m and 1:30 p.m.-6 p.m.

Sa/So/Public Holidays: 9 a.m.-3 p.m
