UNESCO World Heritage in Thuringia: Culture, Nature, History.

Whether priceless cultural treasures or a primeeval forest in the heart of Germany, Thuringia's UNESCO sites tell exciting and engaging stories. It was in Wartburg Castle in Eisenach that Martin Luther translated the New Testament; the Classical Weimar and Bauhaus ensembles in Weimar form a bridge from the Middle Ages to Modernism; and in Hainich National Park nature is left unspoilt. Erfurt is home to some particulary exquisite reminders of Jewish life and is well on its way to enhancing the list of World Heritage sites.
