Schiller House in Rudolstadt
The exhibition in the house of the Lengefeld-Beulwitz family focuses on Friedrich Schiller's stay in Rudolstadt in the summer of 1788. His main occupation was his passions - history and women, and he devoted his full attention to the two ladies of the house, the sisters Caroline and Charlotte. Finally, this time spent together led to his marriage to Charlotte von Lengefeld. Famous people, such as Wilhelm von Humboldt, his brother Alexander and Novalis, were guests in the house. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe also visited the Lengefeld-Beulwitz family and met Schiller here for the first time on 7 September 1788.
