Pilgrims' Route between Loccum and Volkenroda

Höhe und Position

Qualitätsweg Wanderbares Deutschland

This Thuringian hiking trail is quality-tested!

The Pilgrims' Route follows in the footsteps of the Cistercian Monks who founded the monastery in 1131. The complex has been reconstructed and brought back to life since 1990 and Volkenroda has become known as a gem at the heart of Germany. For EXPO 2000, Volkenroda became a lifestyle project of the Free State of Thuringia and the EXPO Pavilion was re-erected in Volkenroda and is now used on a permanent basis.
