Oberhof, on the famous Rennsteig trail in the Thuringian Forest. The quiet, the clean air and the countryside attracted the first summer holidaymakers to Oberhof as early as the 19th century. Years later, the charms of winter led to rapid development of winter sport.
Oberhof offers a unique combination of Nature, activity and health. You can enjoy snow all the year round and go cross-country skiing whenever you please in the LOTTO Thüringen Indoor Skiing Centre in Oberhof. Explore the exotic in the Exotarium and experience in winter the thrill of a ride in an original four-man bob. Admire rare Alpine plants at the Rennsteiggarten, perhaps using a segway, or watch traditional craftsmen at work in the show workshops. The choice is yours!
In winter, there are kilometre-long cross-country skiing trails and winter walking routes, downhill skiing and tobogganing but summer offers plenty of sporting activities too. The Rennsteig Run in spring is the largest run of its kind in Germany. Or keep active with Nordic Walking in charming natural surrounding, go mountain biking, inline skating or enjoy a tour on ski skates - just a few examples of the many alternatives. The new Oberhof Bike Park at Fallbachhang is open from Friday to Sunday from May to October and offers a lift service. Oberhof is certified with the German Skiing Association (DSV) as a Nordic Active Centre.
Every holidaymaker in Oberhof receives the Oberhof Card, with which numerous leisure facilities can be used free of charge or at a reduced price.
