Neues Museum Weimar
The former Grand Ducal Museum was opened as one of the first German museum buildings in 1869. As of 6 April 2019, the Weimar New Museum will be part of the "Quarter of the Modern Movement" around the Bauhaus Museum. In the new exhibition entitled "Van de Velde, Nietzsche and the Modern Movement around 1900", outstanding international works of Realism, Impressionism and Art Nouveau will be on display. They reflect an era which was both glorious and contradictory, with many connections to the present day.
Based on the topics of the exhibition, a large museum workshop will offer fixed and free programmes for craft work.
