In the Baumbachhaus Literature Museum, visitors will learn not only about the former house owner but also about writers who lived and worked in the Meiningen area in the 18th and 19th century, such as Friedrich Schiller, who was given refuge as the guest of country lady Henriette von Wolzogen and wrote some of his most famous works here, such as "Kabale und Liebe".
Ludwig Bechstein, the poet, collector and researcher, is commemorated in a a room in Biedermeier style that takes you back to this era.
