At the “Klausenhof”, visitors can enjoy treats for the taste buds in a very special setting: a group of historical half-timbered buildings that not only bear witness to history, but also bring it to life! Be it in the “Rittersaal” (knights’ hall), the “Jägerzimmer” (hunters’ room) or the “Brunnenstube” (well room), the restaurant’s medieval flair and home-made herb dishes are truly one of a kind!
The building’s tradition as an inn dates right back to the 15th century and the Röhrig family has paid plenty of attention to detail when breathing new life into its walls. At the “Klausenhof”, visitors can enjoy authentic home-made cuisine using fresh ingredients that are mostly sourced from the local region. Its seasonal menu changes on a monthly basis. The herbs used in the restaurant’s dishes are grown in its very own garden, where the leaves and flowers are carefully picked before being transformed into a herb-crusted roast, an aromatic herbal lemonade or a spicy herbal salt. The family pays attention on helping to preserve the traditions of the Eichsfeld region. As a result, the “Klausenhof” is much more than just a themed restaurant! It is even home to a museum that provides guests with an impressive insight into the customs of the Eichsfeld sausage specialities.
