The Point Alpha Memorial is located between Rasdorf and Geisa, on the border between Hesse and Thuringia. Along the former "death strip", the original "OP Alpha" US camp, the "House on the Border" and the reconstructed border installations commemmorate the division of Germany and the horrors of the Cold War.

For more than four decades, this was where the observation points of NATO and the Warsaw Pact stood face to face. The whole complex is an unequalled "learning point of history".
