This Thuringian hiking trail is quality-tested!

The "From Bach to Goethe" Trail takes you to places associated with Johann Sebastian Bach and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The Trail runs over the picturesque Reinsberge Hills and the well-known Veronikaberg Hill. Enjoy magnificent panoramic views of the valley of the Wilde Gera, the heights of the Thuringian Forest and the Wipfra valley. You walk through idyllic countryside with beech and deciduous woods and unique karst flora. Discover too the new sound installation at one of the most beautiful locations in the Reinsberge Hills. This wooden structure resembling 2 boats is a symbol of the intellectual link between Bach and Goethe.

Arnstadt marketplace with a Bach monument and Bach church - miniature buildings at the foot of the Neideck Tower - Fish Gate - Wollmarktsplatz - follow the course of the River Gera - Reinsfeld Market Path - detour can be made to Walpurgis Monastery - uphill to the top of Haselkoppe Hill (580 m) - viewing point - karst fractures of Reinsberge Hills - detour can be made to Kanzel Plaue - along a ridge path to Reinsburg - Halskappe Hill (605 m) - Martinroda - "Ilmenau Footpath " - Hirtenbusch Ponds - Oberpörlitz - Schlingegrund - Ilmenau Cemetery - "Amtshaus" with seated Privy Councillor Goethe
