Exotarium Oberhof

Lovers of exotic and unusual small animals will be delighted - in an exhibition area covering some 600 m², visitors can admire 35 species of reptile, 70 species of fish, 40 species of spider and articulata and five species of amphibians in numerous aquariums, terraria and glass cases. Special attractions are the reticulated python, the water monitors and the 30,000 litre Amazonas aquarium with its three peacock stingrays. The programme at the largest and most modern aquarium/terrarium zoo in Central Germany is rounded off with talks and multimedia shows.

A programme for school classes is the so-called "Lesson at the Zoo". Information provided in an educational film and on the signs on the terraria has to be noted in order to solve a certain assignment (questionnaire). The answers can subsequently be discussed with the teacher.
