Biohotel Restaurant Cafe Saline
The Stiftsgut is located in the picturesque Werra valley, just a stone’s throw away from the town of Creuzburg. Be it hiking, cycling or an alkaline cleanse, enjoying a break at this country estate means making the most of peace and quiet, relaxation and culinary delicacies in harmony with the seasons. The eco-hotel, which has its own restaurant and café, is also a popular conference venue.
One of the special features of the Stiftsgut is the fact that all of its meals and drinks are organically certified. Many of its treats for the taste buds even come from its very own organic farm. Sheep’s milk is processed in the farm’s own cheese dairy to create specialities such as the “Creuzburger Blauer”, an aromatic and creamy blue cheese that has received several awards. Guests should also be sure to try the restaurant’s home-made advocaat, its delicious sheep’s milk ice cream, its Galloway beef specialities and its stew with meat from the farm’s very own water buffalo. The area behind the hotel is home to impressive flowering shrubs and fragrant herbs and if you look into the distance, you can see orchards in bloom next to lush green pastures.
