The card will therefore only be activated as soon as you visit one of these two exhibitions. Holders of the card will be granted free admission to all other partner attractions on the day of and day after their visit.

Friedrich Nietzsche spent the last years of his life here. His sister set up the Nietzsche Archive and it became a centre for editing and publishing until it closed in 1945. Today you can visit the Art Nouveau interiors designed by Henry van de Velde and featuring portraits of Nietzsche as well as an exhibition about the construction of the house.

The Dornburg Castles, a unique group of buildings linked by castle gardens that are the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing stroll, tower above the River Saale. The castles and their gardens create such an inspiring atmosphere that they have attracted many fans, for example Goethe and the Weimar Bauhaus. The school of art even set up its ceramics workshop here in the 1920s.

The “Garden of Love”, is home to a fascinating array of colours thanks to 450 different species of rose spread out over an area of 18,000 m². One of the garden’s most attractive highlights is its collection of Bad Langensalza roses, an impressive total of 91 different types of which were grown here between 1950 and 1990. Rose connoisseurs consider the garden to be one of the most beautiful in Germany.

This museum, which is housed in Sondershausen Royal Palace, the former residence of the Prince of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen, presents art and handicrafts from the past six centuries alongside natural history, prehistoric, protohistoric and folklore collections.
