1st German Fried Sausage Museum
In the 1st German Bratwurst Museum, the focus is on the mix of pork, salt, pepper, caraway. marjoram and garlic in its fine casing. The first mention of bratwurst in records was in Arnstadt in 1404 and the historic context is shown on a wooden relief in the Museum. Numerous other exhibits provide a wealth of information associated with the bratwurst, from the pig through slaughter to appliances and machines used in sausage production. In the neighbouring restaurant, visitors can digest their new knowledge while enjoying a real Thuringian bratwurst!
